Can I Start A New Pill Pack?

Hi! I've been taking Tri-prev for some time now. I am about 3 pills away from starting the sugar pills but I want to skip my period. Is it ok if, after those last 3 pills, I can just start a new pill pack in order to keep me from getting my period?

Yes, it is safe to do that, as long as your doctor approves. Many women do, in order to skip their periods when an important event or vacation is coming up.

However, there are no guarantees that it will work.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, irritability and breakthrough bleeding.
