Can I Start Sprintec Birth Control The Day After Your Period?

I started my period on Tuesday, but by yesterday (Saturday) my period ended, I was told to start the pack the Sunday after my period started, but since it ended yesterday does that mean I have to wait a full month to start it? Will it harm me/be effective to start it now?

HI, Megan! Sorry about the confusion that seems to have been created for you.

You should have started it the first day of your period, regardless of what day of the week it was, it doesn't have to be a Sunday. Starting that day means that you are immediately protected against pregnancy.

You can start them at any time, but then you'll have to wait a full 7 days, before you are protected against pregnancy, which means using some back up form of protection if you engage in intercourse.

You should, however, double check this with your doctor, before doing anything, as there may be reasons you need to do things differently.

Is there anything else I can help with?
