Can I Mix Celexa And Methadone

i wanted to know if iam already methadone is it safe to take celexa?

It is actually recommended that combining the two be avoided and an alternative medication be used in replace of the Celexa, if someone is already on Methadone.

Combining the two of them increases the risk of QT prolongation, cardiac arrhythmias and a couple of other health risks.

I'm on 60mg of methadone for the past year. I started taking celexa for the past 5 months. It works wonders for me. Always tell your Dr what you're on. My Dr knows what I'm on and he says its ok to take. I started on 20mg first now I'm on 30mg.

I'm on 10 mg of Methadone 3 times daily ,and my Dr.just started me on 10 mg of Celexa. Is it OK to mix together? I've been on it for a week and a half and feel really tired and drugged up.

I've been on 80 mg. Of methadone for 3 yrs. I was just prescribed Celaxa 20mg to help sleep. I have trouble staying asleep. My pharmacist says he would not take it. Is is safe.

I too am on 30mg of Celexa and 10mg of methadone twice a day. I too feel too sleepy to go to work and school. I feel drugged up too. I have been reading that it is not recommended to mix the too. My pharmacist won't even fill my Celexa because it tells him that the two cannot be mixed.

Is elavil and celexia similar? I am out of elavil and a friend has celexia. I'm also on methadone 145mg daily for 8 years. I've been on elavil 100mg for 15 years. Will the celexia help in place of elavil?

I take 60 mg of methadone n 20 mg of Celexa for 8 months now, I fall asleep but can't stay asleep, and I started sweating profusely 2 months ago, has anyone had this problem? I feel ok it's just the sweating n body heat I don't like.

I have been on Methadone for over a year after a bad opiate habit and have recently been placed on Celexa. I'm in my 3rd week and the sweating has become one of the biggest side effects. It's so uncomfortable I become irritated.

I was on celexa before methadone and vis versa. But I've been having a lot of problems. Was wondering if these problems could be associated w the combo.?

Yes I used to sweat horribly. Couldn’t keep makeup on because I would sweat it off. There was nothing that made it any better besides when I got off it and got on another antidepressant. Good luck
