Can Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 Cause Nervousness

My husband has been extremely nervous for the past two months and the doctors have been unable to determine the cause. My husband had been on Hydrocodone Apap 5 325 for about two months. Does this medication cause nervousness? Thank you for your reply.

The Hydrocodone in this is an a narcotic opiate and yes, they have been known to cause this in some people, so there is a chance it could be the cause.

While they are naturally depressants, they do have the opposite effect in some people and that is why some end up abusing them, if they like the effect it has.

Watching his intake of other stimulants, such as caffeine, may help.

Yes! it does the same thing to me. I didnt really make to correlation at first, because I thought it was because the pain subsided, I could do more. But then I started noticing pain after cleaning and thought I was doing too much so I stopped or slowed down dramatically and found I was antsy. I also have insomnia and I had thought the narcotic would help me sleep better since it controlled the pain but should have had the drowsiness side effect. I was complaining to my doc about the edginess and problem sleeping even with Ambien and she told me that she found in most of her patients that took Norco/hydrocodone had that exact side effect of nervousness and difficulty sleeping. Change your pain med if poss, if not , then try to discontinue it about 4-6 hours before bed. I treat it like caffiene. Hope this helps
