Can High Blood Pressure Medicine Of 20mg Be Stopped After 8 Months

8 months before i had a blood pressure of 148/110 and doctor prescriped olmin 20. I have taken regularly and bp is normal now. I want to discontinue the medicine. Is it possible to discontinue?

No, you shouldn't discontinue it, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so.

If it's the only thing keeping your blood pressure at normal levels, it's just going to go back up again, if you stop the medication.

Additionally, if you just stop taking it abruptly, it could cause a rebound effect that could result in dangerously elevated blood pressure levels and heart rate, which could put your life in danger.
