Can Bactrim Ds And Amoxicillen 875 Be Taken Together

My child was prescribed one for acne, the other for an upper respiratory infection. Should he take both, or stop taking the one for acne until he finishes the one for infection?

I'm curious. One of my colleagues, a herm, lives in my building and my domestic partner needs meds for acne. I did, too, and I don't ever recall using Amoxicillin for acne. Yes, Amox s good for soft tissue infections and, technically, acne vulgarism qualifies, but it doesn't work If the herm is treating an INFECTION, tat makes more sense. Bactrim-DS is an excellent product; it can be prescribe for bacterial UTys, otitis, etc. If you could tell me who prescribed what drug fr what indication, I think I can figure this out.

Hi Lorraine,

Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between the active ingredients in Bactrim DS (sulfamethoxazole + trimethoprim) and Amoxicillin; deeming them as safe to take together.

This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.
