Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 22)

Updated

Just got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

You got that right. More heroin deaths, pharmacy robberies, people having their meds stolen. Then unfortunately, streets prices will sky rocket & people who have do that sort of buying will end up in jail. Just wait, it's all heading that way!

I had the same due to camber but it was a different yellow dye that turned bright orange like the color of iodine when wet. never in my life have I seen anything like it when wet. my stomach was and still is the same color.. ( bright orange as in a sore) as it's healing from the camber medicine ..... same color of medicine when wet. from a weird yellow and white to bright orange when wet. I hope your stomach heels well. I remember months back we both started having ulcer problems right after christmas... I believe it's something else in the camber instead of the dye. I had two medical professionals say the inconsistency of the dye on the camber 10 Percocet. However as sick as I got, and most of u here.... it was not the dye alone

Re: MeJane (# 421) Expand Referenced Message

I know u had a rough time. I know u felt like crying when u had no side effects from the Alvegon. I actually did cry after all the sickness I went through with camber. how on earth is that posion still on the market. only thing I can think of is to keep it so people will get so sick.... they won't take any at all. If that's a thought in someone's head at the top, then they have never experienced chronic pain or acute pain. I guarantee keeping the camber around making people sick and losing parts of their stomach,WAS NOT A DOCTOR'S DECISION. THE 10 MG. PERCOCET CAMBER COULD HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED ON A HUMAN. IF IT WAS, AND FAILED..THEY PRODUCED THIS POSION ANYWAY. I'm just happy for u MeJane. I felt like I could live again too, as I still recover from the damage the camber did to my stomach.

Re: Lildarlin (# 420) Expand Referenced Message

Im getting the 5mg and I think their blue but so are my thyroid pills. I think the problem may have been the crospovidone. I wasnt on the camber as long as some (22 days). My endoscopy did not show gastritis. Unfortunately, It did reveal a cancerous lymph node near the a esophagus and one in the esophagus. Seems the lung cancer has come back. The endocrinologist is referring me to a colleague of his. I trust him. Very nice doctor. Life is just no fair a lot of the time.

Bella (# 428) —

Just finished reading this entire thread after googling to see if others had problems with Camber as I did. I have already switched to a local independent pharmacy that has a different generic before I read this thread.

I got my Percocet generic 5-325 refilled at Walgreens on May 1 and it was the first time I received Camber instead of Actavis. Because most nights I only need 1/2 pill, a 30-day supply lasts me close to 2 months. My previous refill had been mid-March, and my Walgreens still had Actavis then, so I did not get afflicted with the Camber curse as early as many of the rest of you did.

I had been on Actavis Percocet 5-325 for eight years with no problems. When I got the Camber on May 1, it did not work for me. It was as if I had taken nothing for my pain. My regular Walgreens pharmacists know me and do not consider me a junkie, but when I called to see if they could get the Actavis (and they DO order a non-preferred generic Zofran for me), they said the Actavis no longer showed up in their system.

The Camber did not make me as sick as it made most of you, but I felt “strange” after taking it, and as I said, it did nothing for my pain. I called a local independent pharmacy, and they use a different generic, not Actavis or Camber. I told them anything has got to be better than Camber.

I took the remaining 27 Camber pills to my primary care doctor so he would know I was not tryng to get extra pills. He took the Camber pills, and he wrote a new script with the note, “May refill early.” The local independent pharmacy filled it and it turned out they use Alvogen as well. My 5-325 Alvogen pills are blue; I wonder why yours and mine are blue, but some others using the same strength have gotten white pills?

I do not think the blue dye is an issue for me though. I think the Alvogen is *slightly* less effective for me than the Actavis was, and now my only question is whether to stay with Alvogen or try the pure oxycodone that some have mentioned. I think I read you have tried the pure oxycodone too—which did you find to be better, the pure oxycodone, or the Alvogen? One of my other doctors wanted me to try pure oxycodone in the past because she was concerned about liver damage from the acetaminophen, and my regular Walgreens pharmacist confirmed that the oxycodone is actually less harmful than the acetaminophen. But my primary care doctor wanted me to stay with Percocet because he said the acetaminophen made the oxycodone work better.

Of course I could take pure oxycodone and take the acetaminophen separately as has been mentioned. Just wondering if the pure oxycodone or the Alvogen has worked better for you.

I talked to a pharmacist at a different Walgreens (not my regulars, who know me) to see if they were shortening their pharmacy hours too (more on that later), and I mentioned the Camber problem to him, and he said he would not order Actavis even if he could, because it commands a higher street price. I had to ask him to repeat the “street price” comment, because I didn’t understand what he was talking about. He explained he was talking about illegal drug dealers. I asked him, “What does that tell you, that the Actavis is worth more than the Camber, on the street? The Camber is cheap because it is crap.” He had no reply to that.

I hated leaving my Walgreens after 23 years. They had been a local chain, Kerr Drug, until Walgreens bought them out 6 or so years ago. All the employees that were there when I started were gone; I had been a customer there longer than any current employee had been working there. I had been considering switching to this local independent pharmacy for several years, as Walgreens has become more difficult in recent years, but I had been putting it off because my Walgreens pharmacy was open until 9 p.m. on weeknights, while the independent closed at 7 p.m., and the Walgreens had the convenience of a drive-through, whereas the independent has no room for one. But on May 3, my Walgreens started closing its pharmacy at 7 p.m. on weeknights (although all the other Walgreens in the area still have their pharmacies open until 9 p.m. on weeknights), and the local independent pharmacy has added curbside service for people like me who have trouble walking, so my reasons for sticking with Walgreens were dwindling. The Camber disaster was the final straw, so I switched. I like the idea of dealing with an independent pharmacist who is not a cog in a greedy corporate chain like Walgreens.

I was spending about $6,000 a year in copays on all my medcations, but I guess a big chain like Walgreens doesn’t mind losing my business...

Would like to know which one—the pure oxycodone or the Alvogen—has worked better for you?

Re: Robbie (# 432) Expand Referenced Message

What you said here; (Actavis is worth more than the Camber, on the street? The Camber is cheap because it is crap.” He had no reply to that.), except Im not sure about the cheaper part. From my research, its impossible to find Actavis 5/325 and i did a lot of research. The independent pharmacy that i switched to (from Walgreens) has Actavis 10mg and 15mg. I dont quite get that because I thought the higher dosage was 7.5 or 10. However, my palliative care doctor would prefer not to go up at this time, even though I cut them like yourself. What they are doing to us will have little to know influence on illegal drug use IMO. Everything I have used since the first of the year is less effective. If I became immune after 2 yrs, than its one heck of a coincidence that it happened overnight on Jan. 1st, 2018. I think that they have cut back the active ingredients in all of them. It's just causing a higher use and frankly side effects like constipation. I rarely had a problem with the Actavis.

I use to get by with 2 to 2.5 of the 5mg Actavis in a 24hr period and Im dealing with nerve pain from lung cancer surgery. Now, I struggle to keep it to 3. Camber was the worst. Not only more pain but the withdrawal factor with no alternatives. It's inhumane. I got the actavis back for 2 months from Wallgreens and then they cut it off again. By the way, dont ever look for help from Corporate Wallgreens. They are corrupt.

Yes Walgreens has changed. They are busier because quantity of refills have been cut back. They never answer the phone anymore, always a line and the drive thru line is ridiculously long.

About the Alvogen percocet vs. the opioid without tylenol. I tried the opioid w/o tylenol for a month but didnt keep track of the exact usage in a 30 day period but it was about same. I didnt have any unusual side effects. I had a script for percocet and was busy getting an MRI and endoscopy so I told the Doc that i would just fill it. The 5mg Alvogen are blue. What i read after your comment that the Oxy works better with tylenol was; It acts quicker but does it last longer? Cant seem to find that answer.

I'm going to talk to both pcp and palliative doctor and try to find out. The part i didnt care for with the (EPIC manufac.) Oxycodone was the pills are very small (white) and hard to cut. However, they are made and manufac. in the Us (New Jersey). Id prefer to skip the dyes, one less garbage binder and filler. I'm thinking they worked better though. I'm so damned confused, Im not sure. However, I think Im going to try those again. These Alvogen seem to wear off in less than 2 hrs. Not the side effects like Camber. Anyhow, I dont recall that happening with the Oxycodone 5mg. At first I used some tylenol but eventually didnt use it. I really dont think tylenol does much good and it has side effects other than liver damage. Hard on your stomach. Between dealing with a recurrence of lung cancer and this, I struggle to find some quality of life. I hope that those who created this mess get what they damned well deserve in return. As if the medical system wasn't BROKEN ENOUGH.

I will definitely keep you posted on anything i learn. I can refill in a week and I think I'm going with the Oxy. I use to get 90 at a time. The script says 4 a day (even though not using that) but now I can only get 60 and it's more trips to the pharmacy and Im a cancer patient. Pretty damned scary. I dont know if I helped you or not ((-:

Re: jeeperscreepers (# 437) Expand Referenced Message

I feel this will turn into a huge class action suit against Big Pharma for YES, ALL GENERIC PERCOCET whether Camber, Rhodes...all of them. The formulation has definitely changed behind our backs. There’s proof of this in this amazing MedsChat site that has given us the opportunity to give us Chronic Pain Patients who have been on a regimented, managed program for years a voice; each of us now in numbers individually from all over feeling same side effects happened upon this site; I am sure we all feel better in sharing knowing we r not crazy & haven’t developed some unrelated unexpected disease, however, this doesn't fix the fact that we have been made sick. Sad it took us all years Im sure after failed procedures, tests, surgeries, other meds to finally find a med that made our lives tolerable, a balance, being able to walk ALL OF IT! Why should 95% of us legitimate patients this oxycodone percocet patients who do not abuse & respect this med be dissed, unforgotten due to addicts, etc. I could vent all night on this but the fact & prayer is all it takes is one attorney & Pain Mgmt Doctor’s to get mad, fight, gather info, etc & get the ball rolling to fight this via class action suit. Everyone, track your symptoms, keep a log monthly of your refills & name of each generic manufacturer of what your given, side effects, a file of your history which made percocet your last alternative, how it changed your life, etc. I’m done with letters to Congress, Gov’t...Our lives & this opioid crisis have become nothing more than a political platform for them to get votes. Period. Like I said, the time will come soon I hope for someone to step up & represent us without fear. Hang in there.

I've been getting Camber Percocet for 3 months from Walgreens. I have Dystonia, a muscle disease much like Parkinson's, so chronic pain. I called the pharmacy and she said they would order actavis for me. I have to call every month before it's time to get them filled so that they can order them. Last month I forgot to call, my daughter picked them up and it was camber brand again! The pharmacist told me that she orders actavis for several people like me that have complained of sickness, and the meds just not working. Everyone needs to call and let the pharmacy know, because I told her I would have to leave Walgreens if they couldn't get another brand in!

Re: Angela (# 439) Expand Referenced Message

My Walgreens said they could no longer order Actavis Percocet. I told them I would have to switch pharmacies, and the pharmacist said OK. I was paying $500 myself for prescription copays every month, but they didn’t seem to care if they lost my business.

You are lucky your Walgreens pharmacist will order it. I wish I could talk to your pharmacist to find out why she can order it but mine could not. And then I would raise hell with Walgreens management.

One question—what dose are you on? Bella seemed to indicate that the 5 mg she and I take was discontinued by Actavis.
