Calcitonin Side Effects

Has anyone experienced any side effects from Calcitonin? I have severe headaches and am susceptible to sinus infections. I also have lower back and joint pain.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing so many difficulties with your medication. I have pulled up some information for you. According to the National Institute of Health these are the following adverse reactions associated with taking Calcitonin-Salmon nasal spray. All information listed is in reference to the Apotex Corp generic (NDC: 60505-0823)

- Back Pain
- Headache
- Nasal Crusts
- Dryness
- Redness Or Erythema
- Nasal Sores
- Irritation
- Itching
- Thick Feeling
- Soreness
- Pallor
- Infection
- Stenosis
- Runny/blocked
- Small Wound
- Bleeding Wound
- Tenderness
- Uncomfortable Feeling And Sore Across Bridge Of Nose
- Rhinitis
-symptom Of Nose
- Arthralgia
- Epistaxis

It looks like two of your symptoms could be caused by the medication but it does not list anywhere that Calcitonin can make you more susceptible to sinus infections.
