I have been prescribed C-progesterone cream for my hot flashes since I cannot take HRT orally. When I fill this prescription, it is filled by a pharmacy that has to prepare the compound a day in advance for me to purchase. Can c-progesterone be purchased at a local pharmacy so I can use my insurance? It is very costly and and I would like to be able to use it at CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc.

No, generally this compound must be done by a specialty compounding pharmacy, so regular pharmacies will not carry it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, and irritability.
However, the are some natural Progesterone supplements available that might be cheaper. How much are they charging you for the compounded cream? What dosage has been prescribed?
