By Mycin - Does It Cause Smell From Body

I have been on By Mycin for 5 days and have finished my prescription. I found that my body developed a slight smell while on the drug. Is this a side effect of By Mycin and if so how long will the smell last.

By-Mycin contains the active ingredient Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections.

As far as side effects go, I haven't come across any specific details relating to this body odor you're describing; but nlm.nih.gov does list some interesting symptoms that may possibly be indirectly associated with it:

decreased urination
dark-colored urine
light-colored bowel movements
loss of appetite
upset stomach
vomiting
stomach pain
vaginal itching or discharge

It sounds to me like the smell may not fully go away until you stop taking what's causing it in the first place. But if you're in need of a quick natural remedy, I'd suggest looking into peppermint essential oil that you can drop into your water to help kill any bad bacteria in the stomach or intestines.
