Hi Lainy,
Based on my research, the combination of butalbital + acetaminophen + caffeine is intended as a treatment for tension headache. It is also commonly prescribed for migraines and other pain related ailments - although it is "not FDA indicated" for these uses in the U.S.
On another note, the prescribing information for this drug recommends contacting your doctor before using this medication if you happen to have any abdominal/stomach problems (such as: stomach ulcer, colitis).
From what I'm seeing, it's hard to say if those with colitis should even be taking this medication, but if you sense that it's working, then all the more power to you! That's great news by the way. I'm sure the frist sense of relief from it must've been somewhat exciting. :)
