The combination of Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Butalbital (50 mg) + Caffeine (40 mg) is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches caused by muscle contractions.
The prescribing information also states that, "acetaminophen, butalbital, and caffeine may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide." - That said, I don't see why those ingredients wouldn't be of at least some help in so far as managing your back pain.
