Butabarbital is the active ingredient, in the US, it is commonly sold under the brand name Butisol. It is a barbituate, available by prescription only, that is mainly used to treat severe insomnia.
Some of the most common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.

My mother has taken butisol for 66 years to help with her seizure medicine. This is the only thing that controls the seizures. The pharmacy in our area is having a hard time getting them from the manufactory. Can I get them direct from the manufactory with a prescription?
