Buspirone Dosage

My prescription of Buspirone HCL 15 mg tablets, says to take 1 tablet 3 times a day. Does that mean take 45 mg (the whole bar) a day or 5 mg (15 mg a day)?

Hi Chase,

From my own interpretation of your prescription, I'm led to assume that it means you would be taking three 15mg tablets a day (totaling 45mg after your last dose). That translates to dosing every 8 hours within a 24hr period.

If the instructions still don't make sense, I'd encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor and/or the local pharmacy who dispensed this medication just to be on the safe side.
