Buprenorphine For Treatment Resistant Depression (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Has anyone any experience taking this medication and has it helped for your Depression? I realize this is not yet considered to be an approved drug for Depression, though there have been studies that prove it to be helpful. (and there are current studies ongoing as we speak) I've tried everything else from A-Z. Everything short of ECT. I'm just not willing to try that yet, and I'd probably die from it due to my heart condition anyways. I'm desperate, & feel it's my last chance at any hope for getting my life back together.

That's not actually what a depressant does. Depressant is used here in reference to effects on the central nervous system, not on mood and emotion.

Since Buprenorphine is an opiate narcotic, the main issue is that it isn't going to help everyone with depression, because it is actually a depressant that brings you down.

While some people will experience euphoria and an emotional lift, plus energy, when they take it, it is actually rare for that to occur and, in most people, it actually can cause depression and make them more tired.

Has your doctor suggested trying it?
