Brown Colored Urine From Cymbalta Or Oxycodone

I am currently taking Cymbalta and Oxycodone. In the mornings on several occasions when I urinate it is very dark brown. Could either of theses medicines cause this? I'm thinking of calling my Dr anyways but just needed to know if anyone else has experienced this from either of these medicines?

Hi derrek, it sounds like you may be experiencing a more serious side effect of the Cymbalta. I checked with medline plus and it says:

"Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following side effects, or those mentioned in the IMPORTANT WARNING or SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS section, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment: ...

- unusual bruising or bleeding
- pain in the upper right part of the stomach
- swelling of the abdomen
- itching
- yellowing of the skin or eyes
- dark colored urine
... continued ..."

It may be affecting your kidneys, so yes, get in touch with your doctor. If it is too late to reach them then get to an urgent care or the ER so they can check your kidney function! Not trying to scare you here, but this is something which should not be ignored.

Please let me know how you're doing and how it goes!
