If there are no markings, it is going to be difficult to determine what it may be.

We can rule it out as being a U.S. manufactured prescription tablet, because they are all required by law to have imprints to enable their identification.

However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter items and there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication.
