Blood Pressure Medication That Does Not Contain Sulfa

I need a list of blood pressure medications that do not contain sulfa as I have an allergy to sulfa and so far have been on 4 different meds that all made my throat swell. I took: Lisinopril, Amlodipine, Metoprolol, Methyldopa. So it’s generic or sulfa that’s the problem in these.

How severe was the swelling? Was this diagnosed by a doctor? Did you go to the ER for treatment?

It isn't that they all contain sulfa, it is that they might be based on it, somewhere down in their roots of derivation.

In many cases, the only thing you can do is try medications, to see which ones work for you, and which ones cause a bad reaction, according to FDA warnings.

Was the swelling bad enough to cause trouble breathing?

I am not trying to be mean, or say I don't believe you, but more details can usually help with narrowing down the problem, and opening up an idea for a medication(s) you can ask your doctor about.

At this time, after having bad reactions to quite a few medications myself, I learned that Labetalol, and Atacand are both not known to cause as many side effects, and allergic reactions.
