Im wondering how long after taking the Lisinopril the effects begin, as in, when you take it, how many minutes later is it working on your system? ## There's technically no right or wrong answer to this. It just depends on the individual's metabolism. Generally it could be felt anywhere from a few minutes to as long as two hours after ingestion, depending on whether or not the user took it with food or on a full stomach or on an empty stomach, etc. Lisinopril exhibits an effective half-life of accumulation for roughly 12 hours after it's in your system. I know this isn't a precise answer, but I hope it helps shed some light. ## I have had nosebleeds after taking lisinopril for over a year i started to keep track of the nose bleeds and noticed that within 2 hrs after taki...

I have been given Atenolol 100MG and Lisin/HCTZ 20-12.5 by one doctor and Nifedipine 60MG ER by a cardiologist and told to take all three drugs for high blood pressure. Is this normal to take 3 different medications? I'm feeling very tired all the time. ## Yes, if you had particularly high blood pressure that needs to be brought down fast, then having multiple drugs prescribed is completely normal, due to the fact that it is far too dangerous to leave it high. The tiredness you are feeling could be due to two reasons, the first could be side effects of the medications, which should taper off as your body adjusts to them. The second can be due to the blood pressure lowering, since your body is used to running at a higher level. Are you checking your BP regularly?

why do I not have normal logic of things around after taking isosobide mn er and a drop in blood pressure that is below 99 systotic ## Isosorbide works by dilating the blood vessels and reducing blood pressure, so that would explain both your dizziness and your drop in blood pressure. Have you talked to your doctor? You may be on too high of a dosage. Learn more:

what numbers would you find on a prescription bottle for labetalol identifying it as that drug. ## what numbers would you find on a prescription bottle of lamitcal? ## What numbers are you referring to? Did you mean the NDC (National Drug Code) numbers? If so, then I would need the relevant dosage. As to other numbers on the bottle, such as the RX number, those are internal to the pharmacy and only relevant to their computer systems.

my GP has recomended stopping olmesartan medoxomil in favour off a cheaper version, but from the same group. what are the implications of this if any. ## Which medication have the suggested? If it is from the same drug class, then in theory it should work the same, however, that isn't true for everyone. I was taking Bisoprolol and had a bad reaction in the sun. I had sunscreen on but it didn't help. My skin now looks like I have been burned with hot oil and it hurts to be out in the sun. I have discontinued it for over a week now and I am getting ready to go on a cruise. What can I do about being in the sun? ## Stay out of the sun, as much as possible, and use good coverage options, when you have to be in it. Once you have a burn like that, your skin is going to be more sensitive, for awhile, so you need to be extra careful. You should also make sure to keep your fluid intake up and use a much stronger sunscreen than normal. Has your doctor given you any advice?

RANBAXY is on the purple side, and R-10 is on the white side. Was told by the pharmacist at Loblaws that these are from Israel. BUT, are they for real????? ## If you are receiving them from your pharmacy, they have to be approved by your drug agency and undergo the same testing as anything manufactured in the U.S., or Canada, so they meet the same quality standards. Have you tried it?

Have 46 BPM at rest; now cut 25mg Metoprolo tablet in half to lower dose as prescribed by cardio doc. had ascending aortic aneurysm repair, and aortic valve replaced (bovine) in 2003. What is going on here? I do exercise quite regularly, but 46 kinds of has me concerned, even though I am still able to exercise. Any answers, thanks. ## Well, there is really no way for anyone to say what's going on from just the limited information in your post. There are several issues that could cause this and only your doctor is going to be able to help you get to the root of the problem. The Metoprolol might be working too well and making your heart beat to slowly. I've had that happen with several medications myself. How long have you been on the lowered dosage? Has there been any improvement?

is there any difference between Metoprolol Tarta 50mg and Metoprolol Succ ER 50 mg? ## The succinate and tartrate just refer to the specific chemical salt that the manufactured used in their process to create the drug, however, if they are both ER, then they are the same and will work in the same manner. The ER stands for extended release, so is not a time released formulation, then there could be a difference, because a regular release formulation won't allow for the same blood pressure or cardiac control, throughout the day. Are there any other comments or questions?

I have been on Amlace for hypertension and my doctor changed it to Betadrop (a Beta blocker) which was causing swelling in the ankles and ED and to counteract the swelling in ankles he then prescribed Amifru 40 (1/2 tab x 2 a day). This did not reduce swelling much especially when standing or sitting for long periods. My new doctor has just now put me on OLMAX- H 20 mg 1x1 a day and stopped all previous drugs. OLMAX-H helped in passing much urine freely which was not so with the previous drugs. My new doctor says the swelling is more to do with varicose veins and not so much the previous drug. I still suffer with ED. I am 71 years old, and am perplexed & confused as I read about the adverse affects of these hypertension drugs on the I net. I also have had severe acidity especially i...
