Bloating, Gas & Abdominal Pain (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy husband has these symptoms all the time. Had been told by a GI doctor to use Gas-X. I also bought baby colic drops. Nothing seems to help much anymore. Had endoscopy & colonoscopy, both normal.

He may have abdominal adhesions. They do not appear on any type of scans as they are transparent. I had a series of colonoscopies over a 5 year period. They came up normal until the last one where the gastro dr could not get the scope through my intestines. At that point they determined the adhesions had entangled my intestines. Imagine the roots of a plant but made out of transparent material. At the least you might run an online search for abdominal adhesions. Good luck.

Try over the counter meds like Pantoprazole, Rabeprazole or Esomeprazole. I had the same symptoms and tests done, all came back clear and they worked for me. You may also have the Helicobacter Pylori Virus which I get now and again. This can be cleared up with antibiotics.
What does his normal diet consist of?
While it is normal for some people to be more gassy than others, there are usually steps they can take to minimize their symptoms, and not all foods/beverages that cause gas are what you'd expect.
Healthline has a great article that discusses some of the typical culprits, including fruit, gum, and hard candies.
Most people typically thing of the usual suspects, such as beans, eggs, onions, but there are far more.
Does your husband have dentures, or a partial? Sometimes ill fitting dental prosthetics can also cause gas, since the person may swallow too much water.
Bet he has a fungal infection. Yeast overgrowth. Only thing he can do is eat a low fod map diet.
