Yes, that can be a normal side effect for the first 3 months, or so, of taking oral contraceptives. If it continues past 3 months, you should consult your doctor as this may not be the right medication for you to take.
Other side effects, as listed by the U.S. FDA, may possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes.
Are you on any other medications?
