Bisoprolol Side Effects

Since taking Bisoprolol 2.5mg my weight has increased. Is there an alternative tablet that can be taken to eliminate the weight gain but still be as effective to my recovery?

Unfortunately, possible weight gain is a side effect of virtually all blood pressure and cardiac medications.

Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension.

How much have you gained? What condition is being treated?

This site has really helped me understand weight gain and Bisoprolol (plus ramipril)... Does anyone have a diet that helps counteract the weight gain? I've tried quite a lot with no joy...

Hi Margo, I have the same problem, in 12 months I have gained 4 inches on the waist, going from 34 inches to 38 inches, changed my diet 12 months ago to vegatarian/vegan, walked everyday 3 miles, it did not help.....I stopped all carbs, bread/rice etc...now I do 5k a day walk and 10-20k on my bike each day....despite all the changes I am still putting on weight....it is a total joke that really leads to depression. The Dr.'s just look at you and shrug almost saying NEXT...oh yes before I forget I am a professional sportsman too, so this really is an obstacle job wise!

I've been taking bisoprolol and it works well except it keeps me up all night. I can’t seem to find a way to sleep on it. Anyone else have insomnia from bisoprolol? If so, what do you do to manage it?

Hello. I am on 2.5mg of Bisoprolol and since starting it my head doesn’t feel right at all. It’s been 3 months now and I seem to have permanent sinus and ear pressure, and I don’t know what to do. Has anyone else experienced this??? Going out of my mind. Many thanks.
