I am currently on a 5 mg dose that is taken at 8 am once a day everyday. My age is 59. I take ramipril and atorvastatin in the late afternoon with supper daily. Thats my drug taking background. Have been on bisoprolol for 4 months and following effect happens like clockwork. Two hours after taking bisoprolol my throat goes very dry, coughing spells occur, some nauseau, and I become short of breath. These side effects last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. I have read up on bisoprolol side effects and they fit the profile daily. Got a call in to my cardiologist.Any recommendations

Hi Henry,

It sounds like you are aware that the medication is the cause of the problems your are experiencing. You are doing the right thing by planning to speak with your cardiologist. In the mean time, you can try using a mix of lavender and peppermint essential oils to ease the nausea and coughing spells.

Natural peppermint is full of menthol which helps supress coughs and clears congestion/breaks up mucous. It also really helps me when I am feeling sick to my stomach. Lavender oil can help to open up the airways in your lungs, making it easier to breath. It also promotes relaxation, reducing feelings of stress. I would dilute the oils with olive oil or anything similar that you have on hand. You can either apply the oils on your neck/chest/stomach or diffuse them to help the aroma spread. You can find these oils at most health food stores and online.

Has anyone else had success using essential oils for symptoms like Henry's?
