Hello, Marni! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy!

Extine is listed as containing the active ingredient Paroxetine, which the FDA classifies as an SSRI antidepressant.

They place it in pregnancy category D, which means there has been some evidence of risk. Most prominently cardiovascular malformations.

It would be best to make sure that your doctor knows that you were taking it, the dosage you were taking and how long you were taking it, before discovering you were pregnant. That way they can evaluate the risk level and they may be able to preempt some issues.

Is there anything else I can help with?
