Birth Control An Emergency Contraceptive

(Mono-linyah) is my current birth control I've yet to miss a dosage. I had irregular bleeding and I've been taking it for two months now, as it's helped with the irregular bleeding. but this week I haven't been taking the pill at the exact same time due to a busy schedule but I've been taking them around late afternoon when i get the chance. I had unprotected intercourse and wondering my birth control will work still or should I just take a plan b pill IF I can to be on the safe side??

Hello, Rene! How are you?

You actually have a window of about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered a missed pill. Thus, as long as you've been taking them within that time frame, you should be fine.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight gain.
