Have been having spoting problem(bleedin)so now today I noticed brownish staffs ,so I started taking one tablet of oral con, will it be effective n hw long cn I notice the stoping of bleeding! ## Hello, Zondiwezond! How are you? Have you had this checked out by your doctor? Just one tablet of the oral contraceptive will not help, you need to take it daily and it could take 2 to 3 months, before things settle down and the spotting stops. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms.

I've been on my period for two weeks now..meant to have come off last week but I only took the blue pill.. Stopped taking it after two doses as it made me feel very emotional and vulnerable.. How long will it take until I get off or until it wears out of my system ## Hello, Sof! How are you? I'm assuming you're talking about some type of oral contraceptive. Feeling emotional can be a normal side effect of them and may last about 3 months, while your body gets used to the hormones. As listed by the FDA, other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and breakthrough bleeding. If you only took 2 and then stopped, it shouldn't take too long for the side effects to go away. Are you still bleeding?

I have been on this pill for at least 4 months and I have not had my usual bleeding, I still have sore nipples, cramps, and occasional bloating but not period. I'm relieved and happy to see so many women out there using this pill and having the same worry as I do! I will still talk to my obgyn, but its nice to know that we are not alone is our circumstances! ## Hello, Zana! How are you? Many women don't have periods, while taking this oral contraceptive and it's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels there's reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Ive had my mirena in for nearly 6 years now and iam bleeding nearly every day this month so far ave only had a 5 day break from the bleeding the colour is pinish then browish with black bits when i wipe myself with the toilet roll and more watery can any one else tell me if they have had this.PLus i constantly run to the toilet every half hour for a wee. ## Hello, Jillian! How are you? Abnormal bleeding is a normal side effect of Mirena, but after 6 years, it needs to be replaced. It is only effective for 5 years, which may explain the increasing irregularities. The brown blood is usually old blood that has been sitting in your uterus for awhile and is nothing to worry about, as explained by the NIH. Black bits are usually clots and the watery part is due to discharge. When is your Mire...

I have taken femaine for 3 days and had unprotected intercourse this morning. can the pill already be working even tho I'm just starting for 3 days for the first time? ## I am 48 and on femiane birth control. However i had a period in August but did not take the pill after that, but now I resumed in september on the first day of my period which lasted one day. Have not had intercourse for two months. What's happening?

I started taking loestrin 24 fe about five years ago and then made the switch to minastrin 24 fe when the company discontinued loestrin. Typically, I will have little to no bleeding during periods and it always takes at least 3 iron pill days for bleeding to even begin. Recently, however, I had extremely heavy bleeding and cramping after just one iron pill that has continued for several days. This has happened one other time. Is it normal to go 6 months barely needing a panty liner during periods to having one so heavy that even ultra tampons (more absorption than super plus!) can only suffice for a couple of hours? If my body does what it did last time, I will go back to no periods after this horrid one. ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? Yes, that can happen, if your estrogen levels sur...

My Dr out me on Loestrin and I started about a week after my period ended ! I'm on week two of the pills and now have light bleeding! I was told this could happen which is fine but now I'm wondering if do some reason this is a period again and I do t get one when I start the white pills should I finish that out or start a new pack of blueb pills ! Or should I do that to avoid another period ! ## Hello, Beth! How are you? You should continue taking them, as prescribed, without missing any pills and then start a new pack on time. This irregular bleeding is normal for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to the hormones in them. If it gets too heavy, or continues past 3 months, you should consult your doctor. The other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizzin...

Hi, I have been on this birth control for about 4-5 months now, my periods were extremely light before i started the pill, usually only about 3 days long but i had very bad cramping. Since i began the pill my periods havent lasted more than a day but they have been pretty regular, this month i havent gotten my period, is this a problem seeing as though my periods were so light before? ## No, not unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned. Some women just don't have periods, when taking oral contraceptives. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Sunday evening i had unprotected intercourse. I missed taking dronis 30 on sunday night. Sunday was my 20th day of dronis 30. I took it immediately when i remembered monday morning. Should i be taking any 72 hour birth control pill to protect against pregnancy?

I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 3 years now and have only missed one or two pills ever, but not recently. I got my period when I was supposed to for the first time in months. It came 9/1-9/3. I had unusually bad cramps during my period but i assumed it was because i hadn't gotten it for a while. My boyfriend and i did have unprotected intercourse since my last period. On 9/14 i started getting period like cramps in the afternoon followed by slight bleeding which increased today 9/15. Is this just my hormones being weird or did i somehow get pregnant? ## Hello, Leah! How are you? If you didn't miss any pills, then it is most likely just your hormones being weird, unless your doctor feels there is some reason to be concerned. Can you start the pill at anytime or do you have to wait till you start your period? ## Hello, Marie! How are you? You can start any time, but if it's not on the first or second day of your period, they will not be immediately effective. You'll need to wait a full 7 days, before they will reach their efficacy level in your body to prevent pregnancy, which means no unprotected intercourse, until the 8th day. However, if you start the first or second day of your period, then they will be immediately effective, since they can prevent ovulation form occurring. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## If you star...

I had unprotected sex a day after I got nur-isterate. My breast started to be full, got a smelling discharge and am always drinking hot water with lemon or vinegar for my body. Am I safe as I had sex a day after nur-isterate? And is it dangerous for me to be drinking one of those things while I got nur-isterate in my body?

Hey....I was using contraceptive inj's. for 3 months. I stopped using it because I feel that it doesn't work, so I don't know if it's because of it being an inj. or something else? So now I'm using oralcon and I started taking it at the end of last month. My problem is that I feel like vomiting after drinking oralcon, so can I go back to the inj. or is it gonna affect me in the same way now?

My gf took nordette 4days ago. Sunday (sept. 13, 9.10pm) was her first dose. The second one was mondat (sept.14. 9.11am) Now, she was prescribed a ear drop with ofloxicin in it w/c can interfere on the effect of nordette. My question is, would it stil interfere on the effect of nordette, of its only an ear drop? Not to mention, it'll be use on her ears only. Would it still interfere on nordette's?

Hi. Need help. My partner has a regular period. We had sex last aug 18th, during fertile days. The condom broke. She took nordette 2hrs after the deed, and 12 hrs later for the second dose.. She didn't experience any withdrawal bleeding. Based on her monthly period, dapat magkakaron sya by sept 3rd. Until now delayed pa din sya. We tried a pregnancy test. The 1st time around it was invalid but we reused it and the result is positive. Is she really pregnant? ## Reused pt? Buy a new one and try again.

Hello My physcian put me on Sprintec to avoid a period for vacation. I started it lateJuly. I skipped the placebo. August 31 I started spotting and I am now on my vacation and on my 7th day of spotting. My Dr advised doubling up on the pill. What if I just stop it completely? I have marathon in 5 days and do NOT want to be bleeding. ## If you stop it completely, you will most likely start a full period, since it is a withdrawal of the hormones that induces your period. Spotting is normal, when taking oral contraceptives. It can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to them. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and weight gain. It would be best to follow your doctor's instructi...
