Hi, i started taking nordette on the 18th of march 2016 and i have been bleeding since then. Should i be worried? ## Hello, Shanthi! How are you? If you're concerned, it never hurts to consult your doctor, however, irregular bleeding can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives for the first 3 months, or so, while your body gets used to the medication. Other side effects may also include nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability, as listed by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi last night my blood came today I started my Diane pills but I start from the first tablet which is marked as Sunday. Am I still safe if I continue this way?is there a possibilities that I might get pregnant later as I didn't follow the right day? ## Hello, Kass! How are you? No, that's fine. The days are listed by the pills to just try to help women remember to take one each day, many oral contraceptive packs in the U.S. come with alternative stickers, so you can change it to whatever day you actually took it and keep track that way. If you'd like, you can cross of the days and write in the day of the week you took it and so on. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. Is there anything else...

I'm on my period and I was told to start my pills today...I have never taken them. Will it help prevent bleeding? ## Hello, Netta! How are you? It can help regulate periods for some women that take it, but it may take 3 months or so, before you will know if it will do that for you, or not. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hola!

I have taking this pill for 4 months and I never broke out on my face and I'm noticing an acne is all over my face like certain spots: chin, cheeks and jaws ## Hello, Nakeisha! How are you? Your natural hormones can also play a role, here, as reported by the NIH, because they will still fluctuate. Taking an oral contraceptive doesn't completely turn them off. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. However, if it is severe acne, it could mean that this just isn't the right one for you to take and you may need to try a different one. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm a 27 year old female and have had the implanon for a little over two years now but only in the last couple of months I have developed a rash under my breast and arm pits. The doctor reckons its Contact Dematitis but I'm starting to think it's a side effect from the implanon, he's given me a steroid cream to use but it doesn't seem to work. I also have been suffering from severe cramping. (I used to have it so bad in high school that I'd want to vomit.) my periods are irregular and very heavy. I'm wanting to know if anybody else has had any of the symptoms? I'm thinking of removing the device next week because I can't take much more. ## Everything you've listed are reported by the FDA as possible side effects, except the rash. You may also expe...

Hello all, I am new to Lo Loestrin Fe, just started my first pack 5 days ago when I started spotting for my period. Typically I spot for two days then have extremely heavy bleeding for 3 or 4 days then spot for another 2. I had normal spotting the first day, light spotting the next and haven't had anything else yet. I'm finding it hard to believe that this pill can stop my period after only 3 days.. Now 5. I did take an at home pregnancy test and it came back negative. My boyfriend and I have only had intercourse once since my last period and we were careful, had no problems with the condom... So thoughts? Anyone else have this drug magically stop their periods first week taking it? ## Some women don't have periods, at all, while taking this contraceptive. It is hormonal bas...

I was prescribed sprintec as an OC three days before my period was due. I was not given any specific instructions by my gyno about taking the pill, so I started the pack the day I got them. I didn't know until afterwards that the rule of thumb was to wait until the first day of your period or the Sunday after your period. I started my period almost immediately after taking the first pill (3days early) and I had it for the whole first week of my sprintec pack. What should I expect when I get to the 4th week/placebo week? ## Hello, Mammie35! How are you? That 4th week will be your regular period week, from now on. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. I...

As we r going to travell northern india as temples for a month starting from 3rd may till 4th june . And even my age is 43 and my date is 2nd may so atleast my cycle should starts on 28th april it will be ok ## @priya, Usually when people want to have their period early or skip it entirely, the most common method I hear of is through using birth control. For specific details on how to go about this, I would suggest consulting with a gynecologist or doctor first. Reason being is that there are certain active/inactive pills that you're supposed to take to either avoid or induce your menstrual cycle. One other thing to note is if you do end up skipping your period, it's possible that you may experience a heavier flow and more side effects the following month. That's just what I...

I'm 16 and on Lo Loestrogen FE, I've been on it for probably 9-10 months. My period is always irregular, and last month I had it 10 days early for about 1-3 days and then nothing on the sugar pill days. Now, the following month, my period is currently 2 days late and I'm freaking out. My boyfriend always uses condoms and we check them before throwing out so I know they have never broken. I have bad anxiety and during my last period I was writing 10 IB (very advanced) exams, making me extremely stressed, and the first two days I've expected this period I was on a cadet training weekend which is waking up at 6am and a much much different schedule. I've read these are both things that could mess me up? I have no pregnancy symptoms and have freaked myself out over pregna...

I started taking sprintec in May because I wasn't having a period at all. When I started the white pills on my first pack of sprintec, my period came and it lasted about a week. That also happened all through June. Then I took off about a month and started up again about 6 days ago and I might not have taken it on time, for a couple of the days (meaning a couple hours late). Also on the sixth day of the first week, I had unprotected intercourse. My question is, what is the provability of me being pregnant? ## Hello, Danielle! How are you? When did you start it, when you began taking it, again? Did you start the first or second day of your period? If so, you were immediately protected from pregnancy. However, if you started on the third day or any point later in your cycle, then you...

I need help i take my pill at 3 pm and i mis sed it for 5 1/2 hours late... And i took it until i remembered can i be pregnant? Mi concerned.... Plz help ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? You have a window of about 12 hours, before it's even considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's even considered a missed pill, thus you should be fine, unless your doctor sees some reason to be concerned. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have taken sprintec for a few months now. I have always taken it on time but today I forgot. I usually take it at 7am and ended up taking it at 10:30 pm tonight. It's my 3rd blue pill for week 2.. If I take...

Hi , six week's after I gave birth i started to take birth control injection. Since then my baby has a very loose stomach if you don't know u will think it's diarrhoea. And again he doesn't sleep during the day, this is really worring me cos I'm breastfeeding ## That is the normal time it is given and said to be safe for the infant. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including weight gain, nausea, dizziness and irregular periods. Many children that are breast fed have very soft, grainy stools. Have you had this checked out by his pediatrician? Sleeping can be a whole different issue. How active is he?

I've had my jadelle for 4 years approximately. I've never had any problems with it, in fact unlike many I know I love it. I know I need to get it removed soon to preserve its efficiency but I don't want to try another long term contraceptive. I was wondering if anyone knew if and what is the time frame between having a jadelle removed and getting a new one? I've researched but cannot find any information about this anywhere. If it is not plausible, what is the best alternative long term contraception? ## Hello, Toast! How are you? In most cases, they can be replaced immediately, but it really depends on your doctor. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, spotting and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi i'm taking mono linyah and I missed 3 pills in a row during the first week so I quit taking it. It's now two days after I stopped the pills and my period started this morning with heavy bleeding. This is a week and a half after my last period. And i did have unprotected sex the first day i missed the pill. Do I start a new pack today? Do I wait till the bleeding stops? Could I be pregnant? ## I know this is late but what did you end up doing? I'm having the same issue. My dr told me to keep taking them but I'm wondering if I should...

Hi, I had my Jadelle implants removed in February 18th after having them for 3 years..been trying to get pregnant but no luck yet. I have baby fever and was wondering if its normal to take long to concieve. I have had regular periods too. ## Hi Lyz just wondering if you have had any luck yet with becoming pregnant? I also had the Jadelle removed in Feb since having it in for 5 yrs and have been trying to conceive since. I was on the jab 8 yrs ago, stopped and got pregnant with my son 2 months later. It seems a lot of women are having trouble conceiving after the Jadelle, is this something to be concerned about? ## Yes, it can take several months, after you stop any type of hormonal contraceptive, as reported by the NIH. Usually, women are advised to wait 3 to 4 months, anyway, after sto...

I've been on tri sprintec for about a year now. Im on my LAST white pill today (saturday) bUT still have not had my period this week and I usually start on Wednesdays. Is that normal and should I still start my new pack tomorrow even though I haven't started my period? ## Hello, Angee! How are you? Yes, you should still start the new pack on schedule, unless you missed any pills, so there's a risk of pregnancy, or your doctor advises otherwise. Some women do skip periods, start late or stop having them entirely, while on oral contraceptives. The FDA lists other possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking this pill for nearly 4 years and I've never had a problem until now. I am having my first ever breakthrough bleeding. I know a lot of people have them and I'm probably worried over nothing, but because it's never happened before it seems a bit out of the blue! It's super painful and I'm going through tampons every hour or so. It literally poured out at first. I bled during intercourse the last time as well, that was about a month ago. I'm not due for a checkup for 6 months and it's difficult to get appointments so I don't want to go for no reason... Any ideas? ## Hello, Biff! How are you doing? Has there been any change? You really need to go have this checked out. That severe bleeding is not normal breakthrough bleeding for oral cont...

My husband and I decided that we will go natural and/or use condoms as best as we can because I am not satisfied with the Nexplanon side effects. It's almost been a year since I had it. I gained 20 pounds and I'm very emotional. Sometimes I even get random depressive moods which is not healthy for our relationship. I have a removal appointment on Monday (28th) at 11am. Last night (Saturday the 26th) around 11pm he ejaculated inside me for the last time!! (Until we're ready to have a baby again). I heard sperm can last 3-5 days inside me. If they remove the implant, will I have the chance of getting pregnant? Prior to removing it, do doctors ask the question, when you last had a sexual intercourse? Can I take Plan B in the morning? We're not ready for baby #2. At least no...
