I am on my second pack on sprintec (generic orthocyclen). I missed my first pill of the pack and when I looked online and it said it was okay to start a pack one day late and to take the first pill and throw the missed one away and that no backup contraception was needed. So I just took my pill at the normal time the next day and took the rest of the pack as normal. I had unprotected sex three days after starting the new pack and then I found more information that said I should have waited a week before having unprotected sex. My period is now later than normal, but I have had signs and symptoms of my period, but they could also be signs of pregnancy. I took a hpt today on the day I thought I would start bleeding and it was negative. My mother had a heart attack on the second week of my...

Hello I am a Sunday starter and have been on birth control for a few months. On week 3 last month I missed two pills in a row and did not have a new pack. So I took two pills on the next day and two pills the day after that to catch up. I read I was supposed to start a new pack, am I messed up now? I haven't missed since and am almost finished with my current pack for this month. ## It isn't that you mess up, but that it could increase your risk of getting pregnant, according to the NIH, as well as experiencing other side effects, such as spotting and cramping. Is there are possible risk of pregnancy?

I have been using jadelle for a year nothing changed by the time I was using it I had my normal period every month but for now u removed it ever since I removed it I don't see my period an if I take apreg test it says negative worried.its been 4 months now since I removed it ## Hello, Pexy! How are you? That can be normal, since Jadelle is a hormonal contraceptive. Once it's removed, your periods may be irregular for awhile, you may also experience, headaches, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Being as it has been 4 months, you should likely consult your doctor to have it checked out. Is there anything else I can help with? ## please I have been jadelle for 5 month and my menstruation has stop, what must l do for it come?

I took a planB onestep pill on Monday the 4th and on Wednesday the 6th I started to take Ampicilina Mexapin for a really bad sore throat. I wasn't on any medication when i took the Plan B Pill it was until 2 days after that i took this Antibiotic. I was just wondering if this Antibiotic could decrease the effectiveness of the PlanB Pill? ## Hello, Andrea! How are you? Sorry about the sore throat. There shouldn't be a problem, especially since you didn't take them together on the same day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The side effects for Plan B may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and spotting. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was on an...

Hi I'm starting to take previfem birth 5 out.and on the pack it says start that Sunday of your period. But I never did.when should I take my first pill? Do I need to wait till I start my period again? I started my period last Friday and ended Tuesday night. ## Hello, Jessica! How are you? Unless your doctor has some reason for you not to do so, you can actually start at any time. However, if you are not on your period, when you start it, you need to use a backup method of birth control for the first full 7 days of taking it. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. I started my period on July 2nd and ended July 4th, I started taking Wera 0.5mg/0.035mg today on July 9th...is that okay? ## Hello, Galilea! How are you? Yes, but it will take a week to reach its full level of effectiveness in the body to prevent pregnancy, so you will need to use a backup form of contraception for the first 7 days. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just want to ask. If I were taking a pills, but couple of times I forgot to take and i become pregnant, is there any possible side effect to a baby?

I recently was prescribed Sprintec and this is going to be my 3rd week taking the pills. My doctor didn't tell me to take them when I started my period so I started them the day after my visit. I have been taking them every day and haven't missed any so far. My period was supposed to start already and I'm 5 days late. Will the pills make me miss my period already or will it come later? ## If you didn't start it on the first or second day of your period and were engaging in intercourse during the first week, there is a risk of pregnancy, since it would take 7 days for it to become fully effective at preventing ovulation. Additionally, the time you will get your period will change to coincide with the 4th week of these tablets, it will no longer occur according to your nat...

Hi, I have been on minastrin fe for about 8 months. My period has always been normal. However, this time for the last 3 days of when I was supposed to be on my period I've just had brown discharge very very light. Several days (starting with the time change) I took my period at varying times between 10am and 11am. Should I be concerned? Is an hour time difference a big enough one to make the pill not effective? Is brown discharge normal? I took a pregnancy test on the second day of the brown discharge and it was negative. What do you think? ## Hello, Emily! How are you? Has there been any change? According to the AMA, brown discharge is usually just old blood, sometimes not all of it is expelled during your period, so it comes out later, before, during, or after your next period. If...

I am coming up on my last week before the set date it expires and to get it removed. My breasts have been really sore. Is this a side effect from the hormones? I am just worried because it is coming up on the expiration date. Is implanon less effective towards the last few weeks? ## It is most likely just due to fluctuating hormone levels, you may also experience headache, nausea, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. However, if you are concerned, it never hurts to have yourself checked for pregnancy to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Sprintec for about a year now, and I always renew my prescription on time. However this time I did not. I just got off of the white pills yesterday, and I have no blue pills for today. Will I continue to bleed or will I stop? ## Hello, Nya! How are you? It should still stop, but you will no longer be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken a full week of the active pills. Restarting may also cause some spotting, according to the FDA. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, cramps, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi ladies... I got my implants removed about 2 weeks ago, and I'm on no contraception at the moment but my partner and I have tried to be careful since. But, we weren't just this one time, and now I'm worried I could get pregnant! My question is; can you get pregnant after having the implants removed, if your period hasn't returned yet? As I have not had one period since. I would appreciate any feedback given. Thanks very much ## It is hard to say, sometimes it takes a few months, before the body will return to normal cycles so you can get pregnant, but that isn't always the case. Have you had yourself checked for pregnancy to find out? ## It's been seven months after the removal of implant..my menstrual cycles are normall ..I want to fall pregnant but nothing is...

I took plan b one step less than 24 hours after a slip up. I got a period about a week later. It was lighter and shorter than usual. My period last month was almost two weeks late and again light and short. On and off I've had heavy milky discharge. When I went to the bathroom it was so abundant I heard it fall out of me. I've never had this much discharge. Just wondering if I could be pregnant or it is a plan b side effect. It's been almost two months since I took it. ## Usually, when you have that much discharge, it's due to a yeast infection. The FDA does list this medication as being known to cause various types of vaginal infections and issues as side effects, along with spotting and menstrual pain. Are you on any other medications? Have you checked for pregnancy?
