Hello, Ann! How are you?
The FDA classifies this as an NRI class antidepressant and have never approved it for use here in the U.S. due to the fact that it's efficacy has been challenged in multiple studies and reports.
Thus, I find it doubtful that many people have gotten much help from it for anything. Many have found it to be no more effective than a placebo.
Has anyone tried this medication?
Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, excessive sweating and constipation.
I've just had a terrible time after being prescribed Reboxetine by my physchatrist. I was taking mirtazapine but suffering from severe low moods and insomnia. I've been lucky enough to have not suffered from side effects before, so it took a few weeks to put two and two together. A week before Christmas and my whole personality was changed, I became paranoid, aggressive and compulsive. Starting a big argument with the family, accusing my sister of heinous crimes and falling out with everyone. I was on my own all Xmas, crying and desperate. As well as the mental illness I had terrible headaches, nausea and crippling stomach pains. Sweat poured out of me in buckets while I was shivering cold to the touch. I couldn't eat, losing 10 pounds in a week and not able to get a wink of sleep. It wasn't until it occurred to me that it coincided with the new tablets that things slowly started to improve after I dumped them. It's been a week now and I'm still not great but a lot better. I went back to the GP who told me I should always question what I put in my mouth! I will do so now, it nearly ruined my life and I want to let others know what they can do to you too. There was only one advantage of taking them and that was a heightened sense of arousal but still definitely not worth it, believe me.
