Wow! That's awful. What medication do you take for sleep?
If there are no imprints, it's going to be difficult to determine what they contain.
Is the substance inside them brown and powdery?
If so, that coupled with the smell makes me suspect that they may be Valerian Root capsules. It has a very foul odor that's definitely hard to miss and it will cling to your hands, if you get the powder on them.
It's an over the counter supplement that's used for it's calming effects and is basically harmless, unless you'd take too much of it, be allergic to it or have a medical condition that is contraindicated.
