Hello,

Did you mean to say Bicalutamide, the active ingredient in Casodex? If so, then the generic you have is the same except for the fact that it might not be as strong as the brand name variety. The reason being, if a medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to be allowed to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient. Also, depending on the manufacturer- the binders and fillers (inactive ingredients) used could be different.
