Betaloc 25 Instead Of Seloken Xl 25

After bypass surgery on July 2009, I have been taking SELOKEN XL 25 alongwith other medicines. .Now Doctor has prescribed BETALOC 25.instead of SELOKEN. My q.. is whether they are of same purpose?

They are the same medication, they both contain the active ingredient Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker that's used to treat hypertension and cardiac conditions, such as yours.

The only different in what you listed is that the Seloken XL was time released and the Betaloc you listed is a regular release formulation of it.
