Best Generic Adderall Brands (Page 23)

Updated

Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?

So you must be misinformed on the pink ones. There are very crappy pink ones made by Activa I think that's how you spell it. But there are very good bright pink ones too! Those ones are made by Barr.

I'm going to say Sandoz pharmaceutical makes the best ones! It's so easy to say that I've tried every different one then switch from Pharmacy to Pharmacy to name-brand and generic. You can't get name brand anymore. I think the closest that comes to name brand would be Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. Next in line would be core Pharmaceuticals. Those are the bright pink ones that say cor 136 (NOT LIGHT PINK).

Re: Dawnmarie (# 441) Expand Referenced Message

Well many would disagree with you on the Barr/Teva. I had a very bad reaction to them in addition to them not even being effective. Of course this was years ago, 8 maybe?

The ones Corepharm makes are also pink.

For anyone, don't go by color for any medication. Even a single manufacturer can change that anytime. Instead, pay more attention to the engraving.

Sandoz pharmaceutical makes the best!! Trust and believe me I've been trying different ones for years. But it's all on what works best for you.

Yes you're right. but there are bright pink ones and light pink ones.! The bright pink ones that say cor 136 are corepharma which are good. The bright orange ones that are round and say San are the best!

Re: Dawnmarie (# 445) Expand Referenced Message

I thought core pharma stopped making the generic adderall, they were hot pink for 136. Are you still able to get them?

Re: JAM (# 446) Expand Referenced Message

As far as I know they haven't stopped making them I just got them 2 months ago. I know that there was a recall on some pink ones by activas. But corepharma still making them pretty sure.

Re: Dawnmarie (# 442) Expand Referenced Message

Hi! I am having an awful reaction to the Teva b973 20 mg. I was taking the generic address from Core Pharma and they worked for me beautifully. Never nervous or sick to my stomach. These are giving me heart palpitations and I won't be taking any more. I will contact my pharmacist and doctor to let them know. I cannot be given this brand. I did have Mylar generic adderall when first prescribed about 6 months ago and I did find them to be better than Teva, but definitely inferior to the Core Pharma generic. Anyone else have this reaction lately?

Re: Janny (# 448) Expand Referenced Message

I've been taking 20mg Corepharma for 3 years. I had my rx filled at Kroger 6 mths ago and it was Teva. I have never felt worse than I did the couple weeks that I took the Teva! It was like the medication never kicked in, my mind was wandering, I felt unmotivated to do anything..tired..depressed..irritable..nervous..nauseous. I had to take the pills to my Dr. and I got a new RX but my insurance wouldn't pay, so I had to buy them. I was able to find a different pharmacy that carried Corepharma but last month the pharmacist told me they were ordering from a different manufacturer. I've tried talking to pharmacists at local pharmacies about finding something comparable to the Corepharma adderall but they are very vague and say it's all the same active ingredients yada yada...I feel like a "drug seeker" asking them all these questions but I really don't want to be stuck with meds that don't work. I'd like to know too if you find something that works.

Re: Sherman (# 449) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Sherman I know exactly what you're going through! Last month I went to a different Pharmacy than I usually do cuz they were close to home. I got Teva. My house is a disaster area I could not focus on one tour at a time. I went from one chore then to the other chore then to the other. Pretty much nothing got done. I catch myself in a blank stare or just staring at one thing for one moment at a time. I feel you I went back to my regular Pharmacy yesterday. They used to carry corepharma but they now carry Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. I called all around because I wanted to see if I could find something closer that had mine and it was almost impossible. I had to go back to my regular Pharmacy that's so far away. so I understand I feel your pain. But see if any of them are carrying the Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. Those are very comparable to the corepharma ones.

Re: Sherman (# 449) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Sherman. Thanks for your reply. My insurance only covers meds I get filled at CVS. So, basically I cannot “shop around.” It’s infuriating because I have shopped around at 4 different CVSs in my area and only one pharmacist was kind enough to explain that there are differences between generics (duh) and wasn’t dismissive with me as other pharmacists have been. I felt like a criminal. Me genuinely needing this medication and then giving me the old, side-eye. It’s bad enough to have to take this, I think. Unfortunately, when I went to fill this last prescription, the other pharmacist was on duty with whom I have no rapport, yet. She filled my script, the one insurance pays for (60, 20 mg generic adderall) with a different brand than my insurance does not cover (15, 20 mg tablet/ since my dose is 25 mg twice a day.) I was kind of upset. Why would she give me two different generics? (I know why... cost) so, I asked for all of the pills to be the same generic and so I waited. Neither of the scripts were filled with generics I’ve taken before. If it had been the other pharmacist on-duty and they weren’t short handed, I would’ve had a discussion with her about this. Now, I can’t take the meds because I’m scared I’m going to have a heart-attack, and I’m going to have to pay out of pocket for another script. It’s really scary to me. When the drug works like it’s supposed to, there are, for me, no side effects at all. When they don’t, there is a notable difference I feel like I’m speeding my tail off and am nauseous, jumpy, head-achy and have heart palpitations. Plus, who needs or even wants saccharine in their meds? I thought I was taking a sugar pill at first. Why does it have to be sweet? Plus, it’s a known carcinogen! Thanks for listening. Good luck to you, and keep us posted.

Half of this crap doesn't even post! I'm getting pissed I'm not even writing anything else. I'm so irritated at this point I've written so many damn messages and there and it's not going through. Maybe if I had my proper adderalls this wouldn't be a problem. Thank God I get them on the 15th

Re: Dawnmarie (# 452) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for your reply. I’m sorry you are distracted, too. I’ve been googling everything I can about differing ingredients in generic drugs (adderall) and cannot come up with something concrete in how to handle the discrepancies. I will ask, though for the Sandoz generic if I cannot get again, the core pharma generic. Have any idea what the public can do? You’d think their would be better regulations on Psychotropic drugs. Thanks, again!

Re: Janny (# 454) Expand Referenced Message

Good morning Janny, I agree I think there should be something more done. It affects a lot of people. It is the one of the most popular prescribed psychotropic drugs there is next to Wellbutrin. There is something you could do that would help! You can write the FDA. I started this long strenuous process just yesterday. But it makes me wonder. How can a medication be so different from one manufacturer to the next?

Re: Dawnmarie (# 455) Expand Referenced Message

Dawnmarie, thanks for your reply. I will contact the FDA. And, it’s funny you mentioned Wellbutrin because during a severe depression precipitated by a job loss, I was prescribed it. I insisted on brand only due to the nature of the drug. It was more expensive, but my mental health was worth it as it is now. The stories I read about those generics scared the crap out of me. I Was on Wellbutrin for about ten years and It worked well for me. Have a great day and thanks for championing for safer generic drugs.

I found the cor 136 to be the most effective but they are no longer being produced/manufactured, all the others seem to be substandard. Generics should have to be made exactly like the name brand!!
I would love for core pharma to start making them again, exactly like they did previously. I vote we start a petition!!

Re: Dawnmarie (# 459) Expand Referenced Message

No, the cor 136 was very effective for me. I called every pharmacy within a 2-hour radius to find places that still carried it. Now it seems no one has it. One article I read back in the fall mentioned that the generic companies often have difficulty getting the active ingredient from the manufacturer (in this case the company that make the actual name brand Adderal). Which makes me wonder, it all comes down to the bottom line, if Core Pharma was making a great generic version of the drug did the name brand company intentionally stop supplying/selling it to them so that more people would go back to the brand name?

I really believe that if a company is going to manufacture a generic it should be held to the same standard as the name brand, like everyone tells me (Drs, nurses, Pharmacists) it's all the same. Yet we as the consumer have no voice or say. It's all about the money. I've even tried contacting Core Pharma without any luck. I'm not sure what to do next. The Aurobindo generic version is horrible! It made horrible side effects, I couldn't function and it made my arms go numb, and when I googled it thinking that maybe the pharmacy gave me the wrong pill, that's when I started reading and discovered I wasn't alone. And now I am hearing that Sandoz will not be producing it either. I've tried several brands and no vyvanse, nothing is working and I can not afford the cost of the name brand medication as my insurance won't cover it. What to do next?
