Based on various side effect profiles of Benadryl (diphenhydramine), I do believe elevated blood pressure could possibly stem from one or more of the following side effects:

Increased excitement
Nervousness
Increased chest congestion
Rapid or irregular heartbeat
Abnormal sensitivity to bright light
Urinary retention

Have you been experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above during the time frame you take this medication?
