Belviq And Dizziness

I started taking Belviq 14 days ago. On day 11 I have been experiencing dizziness throughout the day that feel like a moderate case of vertigo. How long is this expected to last as a side effect? Should I cut to one pill a day to reduce this side effect?

Hello, Karen! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're experiencing.

Side effects tend to last for about the first month, while your body is getting used to the medication. Then they should gradually improve and go away entirely. If not, then you should consult your doctor.

And no, lowering the dosage may make it go away for now, but it will just happen again, when you go back up. So, you shouldn't do that, unless your doctor okays it.

Other side effects may include nausea, headache, weight loss and back pain.

I would not think a side effect that showed up on day 11 was because of a drug you have been on for 11 days. Hopefully this was just something else going on and you got past that feeling.

People often experience headaches when dieting and if they're taking weight loss medications, they usually blame the medication. Actually, eating less often causes headache, dizziness, etc. I've been taking Belviq for almost two years and have lost more than 80 pounds. When I have a headache, I take Anacin (which is made up of aspirin and caffeine) for the headache.
