I believe this drug was the old alternative to HRT. I have been taking it for 4 years and it works. However, I have been alarmed by pharmaceutical industry friends pointing out that it contains a narcotic. I have recently cut back to 1/2 pill per day BUT have been gaining weight despite following fairly strictly the Weight Watchers program. Are any of the ingredients (belladonna, ergot or phenobarb) known for affecting metabolism? If so, perhaps mine has been slowed recentlyby my reduction of the does. Help please!!

To Brigid Brown: I have just recently been prescribed the belladonna/ phenobarb tab for heart burn. Does it really work because I still have heartburn?
