Been Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism

Hi,

I've just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My levels were t4(1) and tsh (100) dr said they were bad. I have felt like I have been living on another planet to everyone else in my own bubble, no energy can't be bothered with anything. I'm constantly freezing cold. The doctor has put me on levothyroxine (100mg) and I'm just wondering how long it's going to take to start working? So glad I have stumbled across this site because it's hard to explain to people how I feel and now I feel like it's not just me.

Hi, I know what you mean. I developed symptoms quite a while before I was diagnosed. It felt totally stupid to be freezing cold in the middle of summer, and I felt like I was loosing my mind because my brain seemed to be filled with cotton wool and I was unable to focus on anything. My doctor started me at 25mg of Levothyroxine, and it has been increased gradually. I am now up to 100mg. It has been about a year since I started taking Levothyroxine and I am still having the same symptoms. But I've heard it can take a while to get the dosage right.
