My mum has just been prescribed gabapentin actavis 100mg mum is 78 yes old. I'm worried because she has Barratt's esophaguas (high blood pressure cholesterol and type 2diabetics)... The doctor has taken her off the medication for Barratt's???? She really needs this medication otherwise she is constantly sick.

What medication was she on for it?
Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that's also shown to help with certain types of mood disorders and some types of nerve pain.
The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight gain.
