Bad Reactions To Generics

Recently I asked at a big name pharmacy if I could order the name brand for my medicine that my doctor approved. I have been having severe reactions to their generic. They told me they could not order the name brand for me. Is this true? Has anyone else had this problem too?

If the name brand is still available, then they should be able to order it for you, but your insurance may require your doctor to specify on your prescription that the brand name is medically necessary, or whatever the equivalent phrase is in your state. Unless you are paying cash, current U.S. FDA law doesn't allow them to give you a name brand, unless necessary.

What medication is in question here? And what generic have you been receiving, can you post back with the markings on it?

Can you also specify the bad reactions you've been having? Have you had any trouble breathing, itchy hives, or swelling?
