Bad Side Effects Of Contrave

I am on my 4th week of Contrave and just upped my dosage to 2 pills in the morning and 2 at night, but tonight I have had really bad cramping. Should I cut back or drink more water? What helps treat this side effect exactly? Thank you.

Hello, Debra! How are you? I'm sorry about the cramping.

That can be a side effect of Contrave, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, alopecia, irregular menstruation, headache and dizziness.

However, these effects are usually transient and will go away, as your body adjusts to the new dosage of the medication.

However, if the cramping is that severe, you should consult your doctor, they may able to advise you on what to do for it.
