Bad Reaction From Statin Lipitor

I reacted badly to Lipitor 7 years ago after a stent placement. My doctor now wants me to take Atorvastatin 10 mg. I don't think that is a good idea.
What are your thoughts?

Probably not, if you had a bad reaction to it, since Atorvastatin is the exact same medication, Lipitor is just a brand name for it.

There are other options on the market that you can try, if you need to lower your cholesterol and diet/exercise aren't working.

Fenofibrate is one that isn't related to the statin class of medications.
