Hi Marie,
Most of the time, Cellulitis treatment involves antibiotics taken by mouth and is later followed-up by your doctor. You could also be given painkillers if necessary.
Bactrim is a pretty serious antibiotic, so I think it would be vital to use it over other options when the situation absolutely calls for it. For your own peace of mind though I'd just be sure to educate yourself on the possible side-effects that can come with it.
