Can Bactrim DS 800-160 mg tab help infection in gums due to chronic dry mouth and resulting periodontal disease?

It is a broad spectrum antibiotic and it can be used to treat various types of infections, so you should take it, if your doctor or dentist has instructed you to do so.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
