Back On Lexapro

Started on Prozac back in 1995 and switched to Lexapro in 2002. Weaned off Lexapro last July with Dr.'s guidance and in a month I was experiencing audio hypersensitivity and then a few weeks later tactile sensitivity. The audio problem was all typical daytime noises including the sound of my own voice were unpleasant and irritating. Then the tactile problem kicked in and I was itchy and everything I touched was unpleasant and being touched was like being scrubbed with a brillo pad. Then came the insomnia for a week. After three months of suffering I caved in and took my first 10 milligram Lexapro this past Tuesday. In the matter of five hours my symptoms were reduced by 50% and I slept reasonably that evening. Four days later all symptoms are gone in the morning and as the day wears on I can feel they are all "just behind the curtain" yearning to take control but abating. I started on anti depressants because I could not sleep for years and was anxious. I also take xanax at night to help sleep. Would be interested if others have similar withdrawal stories

My experiences weren't exactly the same, but I was on Zoloft once several years ago for OCD and stopped taking it without tapering. I suffered many problems and it took about a year for them all to finally subside and for me to feel normal again.

Learn more Lexapro details here.

Even with a slow taper, it can take awhile for your body to rebalance itself.

Does anyone else have experiences to share?
