how do i administer Samitrogen to treat an STI, i got the 500mg with 9 pills, do i need to finish all of them. ## Hello, Jo! How are you? Azithromycin is an antibiotic that can treat bacterial infections, but it may not be the correct one to treat yours, if you have one. It is also not the preferred one to treat UTI's. You should have this checked out to make sure an infection is present and then get a prescription for the appropriate medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So I took one capsule of samitrogen last night hoping it would help me with my Urinary track infection I was in a lot pain and I’m feeling much better today should I stop taking them

how do I take the 6 pills samitrogen ## It depends what you have... Usually, 500mg the first day and 250mg a day for the next four days. Certain infections are often cleared with a larger single or two day dose. Some infections can require 500mg a day for a longer duration. Google information for what you're trying to treat, not the medication you're trying. You'll be more apt to find information about what medications are effective and the proper dosages for that particular infection. ## That is correct, if you have the larger 500mg dosage, it is usually taken once a day, but if you have the lower 250mg dosage, usually 2 should be taken the first day, then one per day after that, until you finish them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Azithromycin as possibly inclu...

My boyfriend gave me this pink oval pill; he told me to take it to cleanse toxins inside my body. What kind of illness does this pill treat? ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 500mgs of Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. It will not cleanse toxins from your body, your liver and kidneys do that naturally. It also should not be taken, unless your doctor has prescribed it for you. Are you on any other medications? ## Most likely he gave you an STI because that’s what they use to treat them.

I just finished taking penicillin vk 500mg and it was not working. I have some azithromycin 200mg. Is it ok to take this a day after stopping penicillin? ## Hi Ashley, I guess I can only speak for myself if I were in this type of predicament, but I would probably opt to take the azithromycin without worry if the penicillin wasn't working for me. I think that by waiting a day in between switching antibiotics, it should (in my opinion) be no different than continuing with the treatment regimen -of course, still following the prescribed dosing guidelines thereafter. However, I would also look into taking a probiotic immediately after finishing the course of antibiotics to help replenish good bacteria in the body. This is all theoretical based on what I would do for myself. If in doubt,...

Can I take Olivia 787 while breastfeeding? I started having a runny nose 2 days ago and now I have a really stuffy nose. ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Pliva lists it as containing 250mgs of Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, diarrhea, and headache. Thus, it will not do anything to treat a cold, and you should not take it, unless your physician has instructed you to do so. Are you on any other medications?

Please provide the name of antibiotic tablets used for a viral fever. I have been suffering from a viral fever for the past 2 days. I just feel restless now. Can I take Crosin with antibiotics for that? ## I have been suffering from a viral fever with a throat infection for the last 4 days. I have taken azithromycin 250 tablets twice a day. The doctor has given me a 10 tablet course. I have taken 6 tablets in 3 days. But the next day I started feeling well, so I stopped taking it. Kindly suggest if there's any other suitable medicine. ## Even if you are feeling better it is EXTREMELY important that you finish the whole course of antibiotics prescribed to you by your doctor. I can't stress this enough, you MUST finish all antibiotics given to you.

I have had Urithritis going on almost 2 months. I have been tested for all major STDs and have come back negative. I have been put on Ciproflaxion and 2 rounds of Azithromycin... The symptoms go for a while but end up coming back. The urologist suspects it to be Mycoplasma Genitaliam and has put me on Doxiclat 200mg a 1 xday for 2 weeks. I am on day 4 and still have the symptoms of Urithritis... does this mean its not working either? ## This is another antibiotic, it contains the active ingredient Doxycycline. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has your doctor looked into possible viral causes? If you've contracted a virus, then an antibiotic will not help. Are you on any other me...

I have a bladder infection. Can I use zertalin azitromicina 250mg to cure it? If so, what dosage? ## According to Medlineplus.gov, Azitromicina (Azithromycin) is used to treat certain bacterial infections (ears, lungs, sinuses, skin, throat, and reproductive organs), including bronchitis, pneumonia and venereal diseases. I, however, did not see any information specifically stating an indication for bladder infections (or UTI's). That said, I think it would be important to consult your prescribing doctor and/or pharmacist just to be sure. It is also your prescribing doctor's duty to inform their patient about what dose to take for best results. Nevertheless, my guess is since its mechanism of action is so broad, bladder infections may not be out of the question. I hope this helps!

I want to take Azithromycin orally via the liquid suspension and wondered if I can take it over the span of a couple days and if it will still have the same effect as a full treatment regimen? ## It really depends on the severity of the infection being treated and the recommended dosage to eradicate it. The liquid works just as well as capsules, or tablets, but the dosage is the important issue. The NIH warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash,. How much do you have, what is the dosage and how much have you been told to take?

I'm on Azithromycin and need to take Norco 10/325 (only half pill) - Is this dangerous? I read something about the combination prolonging QT interval. ## I didn't find any interactions, or contraindications listed in the NIH databases, but it is always best to double check to be safe. The FDA does warn that Norco carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have they both been prescribed for you?

I had a mild cough so i went to the pharmacy to get some antibiotic... Later to see he gave me 4 tablets (disprin, cobadex, celin and azithromycin). After taking all these now I'm feeling even more worse. For e.g.; increase in body temp, headache and body pain. Is it a side effect or some contraindication of combining all these drugs? ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects. Zithromax (Brand) and Azithromycin (Generic Equivalent). Are they both, exact in all Ingredients, or, do they add other Ingredients in the Generic > Azithromycin ?? ## They do not have the same molecular structure on the active ingredient - Brand is a dihydrate and generic is a monohydrate - also have different inert ingredients as well - generic is made outside of US where there is little inspections related to quality control - on contaminates and greater than allowed by the FDA on residual solvents. I have take brand name about 5 times last 12 years and worked great - I took the generic and had really bad reactions - I feel as if I put poison in my system. ## Can i take this medicine together with Paracetamol tablet?

Is there a difference in the azithromycin formula between Lupin and Pliva tablets? I had to take 3 more tablets and the azithromycin was from 2 different companies; the first 7 days on Lupin, then 3 days more from Pliva which gave me stomach issues. ## No, the additional side effects are just most likely due to the additional time of taking it. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How are you feeling, now? What stomach issues did it cause?

I have had a reaction to poison ivy going on 3 weeks now. My face has been swelling and I really can't stop itching. I have had a cortisone shot, took prednisone, then they gave me a methylprednisolone dose pack.. I wonder if I need azithromycin? ## That is an antibiotic, so it is not going to do anything to help with an allergic reaction, it will only help treat, or prevent infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Have you tried consulting a dermatologist? That really sounds like a severe allergic reaction.
