Axiron Side Effects (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I was prescribed Axiron for Low T and have been using it every day as prescribed for 30 days now. I have noticed some very positive side effects, such as more energy and increased sex drive. Unfortunately, however, the effects are not all positive. I've been experiencing "peaks and valleys" in the effects of Axiron. Everything I have read about this medication states that the desired results will be noticeable, and the effects will plateau (even out) in approx. 15 days. After 31 days using Axiron, I am still having severe ups and downs--most noticeably with my moods and temper. (I have increased road rage, but on the plus side, I don't cry as much during sex. Lol.) All joking aside, if anyone else has had similar experiences with Axiron treatment, I would really like to hear from you. I would also like to know the pros and cons of using Axiron vs. testosterone injection therapy.

I am 60, been on Axiron on for about 4 years now, have had nothing but success with this medicine. 1 pump daily, I contribute my 50 lb weight loss to this medicine by giving me the energy to get on a treadmill every day, of course eating right helped a lot. Now the bad side, my doctor has taken me off it due to my body is now creating enough T that I need to stop for 6 months!! Been two weeks and my joints ache, and I am very lackluster. Does anyone know will this go away at some point?

Axiron and Andro gel have been horrible for me.
53 year old and has caused unbearable hot flashes and flushing.
Swelling of legs, feet, ankles and hands.
Have gained over 25 pounds and feel horrible.
I am done.

Old post I know but I've been on 60mg of Axiron (2 pumps) for 3 weeks. I am 32 with low T, but on Axiron I feel 19 again. My temper has flared a bit more than usual. My libido is back w a vengeance (my wife can't keep up.) overall I feel amazing!!!

I am finding it difficult to live with boyfriend as long as he has been using it.Iy has been over a year, and the mood swings,rage, outbursts and aggression are impossible to live with along with the denial, that this is the cause.I hate this product.I would like to hear other womens experiences dealing with this issue.am I alone?

I have been taking Axiron for almost 4 months -- two pumps one for each armpit. I have not noticed much in the way of side effects. I have had a small amount of weight gain, but I don't attribute the weight gain to the Axiron, but to specific liberties I've taken with my diet. I gained about 10 pounds (210 to 220), but I'm maintaining without difficulty. There is one particular event that has me concerned, though. A couple of months ago, I had a very rapid heart rate during my sleep. I talked to my doctor about it and he did not correlate it to the Axiron. I am, however, uncertain.
