Avalide And Losartan

My insurance company insisted that I change from Avalide 150mg/HCT 12.5mg to Lorsartan 50mg/HCT 12.5mg. Are the dosages equivilant?

Yes, that is the equivalent dosage.

Avalide contains Irbesartan with the Hydrochlorothiazide and the Losartan is actually a stronger medication, so it only takes 50mgso f it to equal the 150mgs of the Irbesartan.
