Atorvastatin And Turmeric

I currently take atorvastatin for my cholesterol. Is it safe to start taking Turmeric for the inflammation of my arthritis? Is atorvastatin a blood thinner?

No it is not a blood thinner, it is used solely to help lower cholesterol levels, although some recent studies have shown that elevated cholesterol levels are not as dangerous as we think, but many disagree, thus the jury is still out on that, so to speak.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches.

As to taking it with Turmeric, I haven't been able to find any studies on that, but since it is used in many foods, I'd think the FDA would warn you if there was a problem. However, it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. It is also best not to take more than the label directs.
