Atherosclerotic Luminal Irregularity

I had a CT scan of my head on 8/31/17 and the report indicates: Circle of Willis shows no aneurysm or vascular malformation. No hemodynamically significant intracranial stenosis or occlusion is seen in both anterior and posterior circulation. Atherosclerotic luminal irregularity of cavernous and supraclinoid. Segment of ICAs is noted. MCA, ACA, and PCA branches are patent. My concern is: Atherosclerotic luminal irregularity of cavernous and supraclinoid segment of ICA - What exactly does this mean?

That means that you have some plaque build up in your arteries, but at this time, it is not dangerous, according to FDA definitions.

However, it is usually a good warning sign that you should start watching your diet to lower your cholesterol and fat intake, and make sure you get regular amounts of proper exercise.
