I thought they were very similar and am thinking of asking to switch back. Has Atacand fallen out of favor for some reason? ## No, it hasn't fallen out of favor, per se, but doctors do tend to prefer to prescribe the medications they are most familiar with. I've been in the ER before and had a doctor give me an attitude questioning the medications I am on, because one is Atacand and it's just not the first choice to be used, anymore.
